Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Kepoint (“the app”) is developed and operated by Dongqing Yang, an individual developer (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have.
The short version
- Your items, progress, and records are stored on your device. We do not run servers that receive them, and you do not need an account.
- The app shows ads provided by Google AdMob. Google may collect device information to serve and measure ads. Personalized ads are shown only if you allow tracking.
- Purchases are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Information stored on your device
Everything you create in the app — items, goals, stages, time records, progress, reminders, and settings — is stored locally on your device. A summary of your items is shared with the app’s widgets and Live Activities on the same device through an App Group container. We cannot access this data.
If iCloud sync is offered in the app and you turn it on, this data is stored in your private iCloud database under your Apple Account and handled by Apple according to Apple’s Privacy Policy. We cannot access your iCloud data.
Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device.
Permissions
- Calendar (write-only): if you choose to add a reminder to your calendar, the app asks for permission to add events. It cannot read your existing calendar events.
- Notifications: used only for reminders you set. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device.
- Tracking (App Tracking Transparency): see “Advertising” below.
You can change any of these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Advertising
The free version of Kepoint shows ads served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To deliver, limit, and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and process information such as your IP address, device and app information, ad interactions, and — only if you allow tracking — your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Tracking permission: the app asks for permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on your activity in other companies’ apps and websites.
- Users in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland: before ads are requested, you are asked for consent through Google’s consent form. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy Choices.
- Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
If you purchase Remove Ads, the app stops loading ads. From the next launch onward, it also no longer initializes the advertising SDK.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, email address, or payment information. The app checks whether you own Remove Ads using Apple’s on-device purchase records.
When you contact us
If you send us feedback by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. The feedback email drafted by the app includes the app version, iOS version, device model, and app language to help us investigate problems; you can edit or remove this information before sending. We use this information only to respond to you and improve the app, and we delete it when it is no longer needed.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not collect analytics about how you use the app.
- We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or health data.
Children
Kepoint is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal information. Because your app data stays on your device, you can view, change, or delete it directly in the app. For information processed by Google for advertising, you can use the in-app Privacy Choices option or contact Google. For anything else, email us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
